A note from the Chairman & CEO...

Universal Pictures, who will be handling domestic theatrical distribution for Cowboys & Aliens, sent out an announcement with the film's release date of July 29, 2011!  How exciting is that??  All that said, this is Hollywood and we still don't have an official "green light," which must be had by the partnering studios before our science fiction action adventure becomes a reality. We're all crossing our fingers for a Summer start of shooting for Cowboys & Aliens. In the meantime, our crack development team here at Platinum is working on all our announced projects and development partnerships, and continuously working to find new story takes on our characters.

"Cowboys & Aliens" Signs James Bond Star

Indestructible Daniel Craig will play the lead role in Platinum Studios' upcoming film "Cowboys & Aliens." Craig's addition to the cast comes just days after Robert Downey Jr., who had previously been attached, opted out of the project. Craig joins forces with some of Hollywood's biggest power players involved in the film, including director Jon Favreau ("Iron Man"), writers Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci ("Star Trek" and "Transformers"), and producers Brian Grazer, Steven Spielberg and Platinum Studios Chairman & CEO Scott Rosenberg.

Craig's previous work includes the most recent James Bond films "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace," action comedy "Layer Cake," war epics "Defiance" and "Munich," and the American period picture "Road to Perdition," in which he starred alongside Paul Newman and Tom Hanks.

"Dead of Night" Leaks Photo, Leads Poll

Nightfall

Platinum Studios is proud to have locked picture on its vampire-werewolf-zombie mystery "Dead of Night." This step takes the producers into the final stages of the production process, as they oversee visual effects, sound mixing, and scoring of the final film.

The milestone came just days after "Dead of Night" placed first in an AMC online poll for most anticipated comic book movie of 2010. With 53% of the vote, "Dead of Night" placed above highly publicized films "Iron Man 2" and "Kick-Ass."

The poll results came with a surprise treat for fans of the original comic, the beloved Italian detective fumetto "Dylan Dog." The movie's official blog released a photo taken from the set for "Dead of Night," the details of which wowed fans, who noted Dylan's signature clarinet, Scotland Yard mug, and perpetually unfinished model ship. Fans can expect more exclusive photos as the film nears completion.

Gunplay

Platinum Studios has entered into an Investment Agreement for a $5,000,000 equity line of credit with Dutchess Opportunity Fund II, LP.

During the 36-month term of the Agreement, the Company has the option to sell shares of its common stock to Dutchess issued under the equity line, at per share prices to be determined based on market prices in accordance with an agreed-upon formula. “We are excited to work with Platinum Studios, one of the few remaining independent multi-universe comic book character libraries. The announcement last summer of Disney’s $4 billion acquisition of Marvel Entertainment was the latest step in the consolidation of these collections into major studios.  With the emergence of comic book-based entertainment as the cornerstone of major entertainment franchises around the world, we are excited to participate in the Company’s growth,” stated Jessica Geran, Director of Corporate Finance at Dutchess.

A more detailed description of the Dutchess agreement is included in the Company's recently filed Form S-1.
