"COWBOY & ALIENS" On Slate At DreamWorks
DreamWorks just secured and finalized $825 billion in financing from JP Morgan, Reliance Big Entertainment, and distribution partner The Walt Disney Company, The Hollywood Reporter recently announced. This allows DreamWorks to now begin production on its slate of development projects which includes Platinum Studios’ “COWBOYS & ALIENS.” The project is far along in development at DreamWorks, with an impressive script recently drafted by arguably the hottest writing team in Hollywood, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, writers of “Transformers" (Worldwide Box Office: $828M) and the newly resurrected “Star Trek” franchise (Worldwide Box Office: $383M) and Damon Lindelof (Lost).
"DEAD OF NIGHT" Wraps Principal Photography
Principal photography recently wrapped in New Orleans on Platinum Studios’ first feature film production, “DEAD OF NIGHT,” a gothic thriller based on the beloved, best-selling Italian comic book series “Dylan Dog”.
Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) plays Dylan Dog, the world’s only private investigator of the supernatural whose business card clearly read “investigator of the paranormal: no pulse, no problem”. A missing artifact, a beautiful heiress and a brutal murder conspire to drag Dylan into the dark world of the undead. Using his Indiana Jones bravado and Sherlock Holmes brainpower, can Dylan conquer the evil that surrounds him and solve his most difficult case?
The film also stars Sam Huntington (“Superman Returns,” “Fanboys”), Anita Briem (“Journey to the Center of the Earth”), Taye Diggs (“Private Practice”) and Peter Stormare (“Constantine”). Behind the scenes talent includes Academy Award®-winning editor Paul Hirsch (“Star Wars”) and make-up effects supervisors Harvey Lowry and Martin Astles from three-time Academy Award®-winning DRAC Studios, which most recently won the Oscar® for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
